About the event

Get to know your feathered neighbours! The fall season brings over hundreds of species migrating from Northern and Eastern Canada. American Widgeons dabble along the marsh while Bald Eagles soar around the estuary. This is an introduction to birding event and is free to all participants. Accessibility: 

Blackie Spit Park is transit accessible and has plenty of free parking space. The trails are mostly flat with some gravel and boardwalks. There are washrooms available by the Crescent Beach Public Parking.

About your Birding Guide:

Kris Cu grew up in the bustling city of Manila, the Philippines and loved watching the Pied Fantails forage around his neighbour’s garden. Upon moving to Canada, Kris completed a Biological Sciences degree from Simon Fraser University and is now the Digital Media and Outreach Specialist for Birds Canada. Kris is also an avid wildlife photographer and is passionate about sharing the joy of birds and the natural world to others.
